Human Resources Manager (Cambridge)

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources (or related field) or 5 years’ experience and Associate’s Degree in Human Resources training with HR Certificate, preferred.
  • Must be articulate and have good writing skills.
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of employment laws, best practices, and trends in Human Resources
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to establish respect, credibility and trust, and maintain productive working relationship with all levels of staff.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Commitment to confidentiality, strong ethics and good

 

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment of staff (attends job fairs, advertise for positions, )
  • Benefits administration including set up for health benefits upon hire as well as during Open Enrollment
  • Explain policy and procedures to all new staff
  • Complete new hire paperwork including Federal and State mandated forms Evaluate and set up trainings for Day and Residential Staff
  • Review performance evaluations done by supervisors
  • Counsel employees who exhibit unusual behaviors and make referrals if indicated
  • Follow progressive discipline policy
  • Act as a mediator when a dispute arises between employees and their supervisor
  • Update employee handbook
  • Attend unemployment hearings
  • Attend mediation meetings
  • May consult with agency’s attorney
  • Maintains a system of personnel files regarding tenure, retirement, leave, promotions, Handle Worker’s Compensation claims
  • Handle Short Term / Long Term/ FMLA claims
  • Attend workshops regarding Employment Laws and Supervision
  • Enroll in 401k Plans, process loans, hardships and withdrawals
  • May recommend employees for promotions or discharge
  • May fill out reports summarizing employment information for other agencies
  • Conducts Random Drug and Alcohol tests
