Production Planner (Cambridge)

Position Summary:

The Production Planner will be responsible for forecasting and planning in support of the operations team to meet customer service requirements. In addition, this individual will be involved in capacity and efficiency analysis, continuous improvement initiatives and overall business planning.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for production planning, capacity planning, and scheduling activities on six lines
  • Responsible for analyzing and reporting sales, forecasting, and inventory levels
  • Make recommendations for adjustments to forecast and inventory targets based on changes in demand and market trends
  • Continuously improving forecasting techniques, method and approach as well as measuring forecasting accuracy
  • Work with Sales to effectively translate the sales forecast demand into the plant capacity schedule
  • Works with Customer Service daily on production releases
  • Understands the impact of quality testing and incubation and works closely with the quality department as needed
  • Sequences production runs in an efficient manner and understands the importance of allergens as a part of human safety
  • Defines, leads and/or participates in projects to improve processes that impact the effectiveness and performance of the company as well as new product launches
  • Understands line and production efficiency
  • Continuously having a perspective of urgency and timelines
  • Works with the entire supply chain from when the product leaves the facility
  • Understanding and fulfilling the company’s fill rate target as well as schedule adherence and attainment
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Associates Degree
  • Minimum 1-year experience in planning/forecasting
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of planning process
  • Outstanding Microsoft Office skills, specifically Microsoft excel, knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains a plus
  • Experienced with forecasting tools
  • Knowledge of an ERP system
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • Strong communication skills are a must
  • Good team planner and ability to work cross-functionally
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Independent and able to perform with little supervision
  • Able to learn quickly and adapt to new environments
