Quality Inspector

Education:                      
  • High School Diploma/GED (Inspector)
Language Skills:                    
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
Mathematical Skills:
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Reasoning Ability:
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

 

Skills:
  • Demonstrate the ability to:
  • Read and interpret prints IAW ASME Y14.5.1M and GD & T principles
  • Use inspection tools including but not limited to:  calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges, CMM, height gauge, microscope
  • Use MS Office software, including but not limited to MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook, and other software utilized by the company for business
  • Enter data into ERP system as required
  • Obtain and maintain IPC Certification (IPC A610-E)
  • Evaluate electrical test data IAW customer specifications
  • Learn  & apply information in a timely manner
  • Communicate effectively with peers and leaders
  • Willingly work with others to achieve team goals
  • Follow all company policies, procedures and work instructions
  • Perform assigned tasks with minimal instruction/supervision
General Duties:
  • Inspect machined parts, in-process product, purchased materials and finished products to determine compliance to customer specifications and the Company’s workmanship standards
  • Generate inspection documentation
  • Scan all required documentation per work instructions
  • Prepare Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) as needed for materials found to be non-conforming
  • Verify accuracy of tools (i.e. hot plate) as required by work instructions
  • Periodically audit inspection tools used in Manufacturing to ensure calibration information is current
  • Perform Internal Audits
  • Perform in process inspection per Sampling Plan
  • Perform final inspection as required by traveler/customer specification
  • Assist with customer source inspections as required
  • Disposition material in ERP system as required
  • Update and maintain NCR database
  • Initiate Corrective Action Requests
  • Initiate Problem Return Material Reports
  • Perform/support AS9102 first article inspections
  • Maintain Calibration information as needed
  • Retrieve/collect all inspection equipment requiring calibration
  • Update tracking spreadsheets, databases and other records as required
  • Initiate Purchase Orders and coordinate shipping for third party calibration
  • Support QA documentation maintenance, notify manager of revision/creation needs
