Wastewater Operator (Salisbury)
Direct Hire Opportunity! Location: Berlin Area Hours: 6 pm - 6 am
The purpose of the Wastewater Operator is to operate and inspect all components of the wastewater facility in an efficient, safe and effective manner to meet the NPDES
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Completing a Daily Operational Checklist. - Operating Two Dissolved Air Flotation units. - Collecting and analyzing water samples. - Performing Storm Water Analysis. - Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operations, listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing devices - The ability to troubleshoot/repair mechanical/operational issues with equipment/machinery. - Responsible for both written and computer generated reports using computer software. (i.e. Excel, word, access) - Ability to read schematics and mechanical drawings required.
- Mechanical Aptitude - A Maryland class IV Industrial license is preferred but not required. - Communication Proficiency - Teamwork Orientation and Ethical Conduct
Requirements / Qualifications:
- High School Degree or GED - Two (2) or more years' experience with preventative maintenance, troubleshooting. - Prior experience in the Water & Wastewater field is preferred but not required - Prior knowledge of Lockout / Tagout. - Experience with schematics and mechanical drawings required - Safe Practices Training and/or experience required - Good verbal and written communication skills - Ability to work early hours, overtime, weekends and split shifts as needed - Ability to make sound and accurate, yet, quick decisions - Flexible, adaptable and open to change - Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices - Dependable - Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position will require ability and mobility to move freely around the facility in extreme temperatures for prolonged periods of time. This position will required the ability to frequently lift up to 50# on a regular basis and easily maneuver in and around machinery and equipment.
